Bollywood heartthrob Ranbeer Singh’s association with cricket is a well-known phenomenon by now. The actor, who has given his audiences blockbusters such as ‘Ram Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’, is currently involved in post-production for ’83’.

The movie documents the underdog tale of the 1983 world-cup winning Indian side. Ranveer plays the role of former India captain and all-rounder Kapil Dev.

Besides, he made several appearances in the stands during crucial ICC tournament games, including the 2019 ODI World Cup in England.

Former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, shocked the cricketing fraternity with his sudden announcement from International cricket. Shortly after, his partner in crime, Suresh Raina, also joined Dhoni in his’ journey’.

As soon as the heart-breaking development emerged, social media flooded in with wishes and tributes for the two Indian legends.

Now, the giant of the Indian film industry posted a heartfelt note on Instagram, dedicated to the legend of Dhoni.

In his post, Ranveer uploaded three pictures with the recently retired cricketer, heaping praises on his humility and down to earth nature. Also, he went on to tag himself as a ‘fanboy of MS’ through his recent post.

“Every time that I have the good fortune of meeting him, I am left energised and enthused, as if a big brother has blessed me with energy and motivation to go out and be the best that I can be,” Ranveer wrote in his caption.

“MSD is one of the greatest sportsmen to have ever lived. I’m lucky to have witnessed his playing career in my lifetime. A paragon of excellence. An icon of the sport. My hero forever,” he added.

“Thank you Mahi Bhai for bringing glory to our great nation and filling a billion hearts with pride. #MSD the #GOAT,” concluded Ranveer’s note.
