The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 was one of the most awaited tournaments of the year and It delivered stunning viewership on Star India Network. The official broadcaster of the event registered a cumulative Viewership of 238 million till last week.
On Thursday, the International Council Cricket (ICC) revealed that the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match in Dubai set a new record for the most views with 15.9 billion minutes in India alone.
According to a Star India spokesperson, the India and Pakistan match in the Super 12s has created history by achieving a record of 167 million viewers, making it the most-watched T20I match till date. It exceeded the previous viewership record of 136 million between India vs West Indies 2016 ICC World Cup T20 semi-finals.

“There’s no doubt that the result of the match and India’s exit from the tournament disappointed fans but the record viewership displays the unique power of Cricket to engage audiences at an unprecedented scale,” said a Star India spokesperson.
When it comes to the match, Team India faced an embarrassing 10-wicket loss against Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 24. Chasing the target of 151, opener Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan formed 150 runs of partnership to seal the maiden victory for Pakistan against India in the World Cup history.
