Former India head coach Ravi Shastri welcomed the year 2022 at a party where he danced on a popular Bollywood song, ‘Hum Bane Tum Bane’, along with actor Ranveer Singh. Ex-India seamer Balwinder Singh Sandhu also joined them as seen in a clip posted by Shastri on his social media accounts.

Ranveer, who portrayed the role of Kapil Dev, is the lead actor in the movie ’83’, which is based on India’s World Cup triumph in 1983. Shastri was also part of the World Cup-winning squad, and Dhairya Karwa played his role in the film.

“#HappyNewYear! Getting into 2022 be like…thanks for the dance tips @RanveerOfficial. May 2022 be a wonderful, healthy, and inspiring year for each of you,” Shastri captioned his post.

During one of his recent interviews, Shastri had revealed that ’83’ is by far his most favourite cricket movie. He even cried while watching the film. “Not because I was part of the team that won, I really had tears in my eyes when the film got over because it brought back so many memories,” he was quoted as saying.

The veteran cricketer appreciated the efforts made by the cast and crew of ’83’.

“The cast, the effort they put into those actors. Like Ranveer, the job he did there. Kabir [Khan], the show he put up and all the cast, they worked their backsides off to try and look like the characters they were playing,” added Shastri.

Apart from Ranveer, the movie also features Tahir Bhasin (Sunil Gavaskar), Ammy Virk (Balwinder Singh Sandhu), Hardy Sandhu (Madan Lal), Pankaj Tripathi (PR Man Singh), Boman Irani (Farookh Engineer) and Deepika Padukone (Romi Bhatia) among others. The movie is running successfully in theatres.
