Team India bagged their 11th consecutive victory in T20Is after defeating Sri Lanka in the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday.
Chasing the massive target of 184 runs, the hosts cruised to 186/3 in 17.1 overs to win the contest by seven wickets. Shreyas Iyer shined with the bat, smashing an unbeaten knock of 74 runs off 44 deliveries, with the help of 10 boundaries, including 4 humungous sixes. Experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also chipped with an unbeaten 45 off 18 balls to take India over the finish line.
The weather was surely not pleasing for players as it was a bone-chilling evening in Dharamsala, with the temperature fluctuating around 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. Ahead of the start of the match, there were a few morning and afternoon showers as well.
However, on a cold evening in Dharamsala, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was spotted chilling and spreading positive vibes. The Mumbaikar didn’t have a good outing with the bat as he scored only 1 run, but he enjoyed the batting masterclass of Shreyas, Jadeja and Sanju Samson.
During India’s prolific run-chase, Rohit was spotted enjoying a cup of coffee in the dressing room. He then decided to have a fun banter with the cameraman after seeing him on the big screen. The 34-year-old jokingly offered the coffee to the cameraperson before also bursting into a laugh about it.

Rohit Sharma lavishes praise on Sanju Samson
Although Shreyas was the major highlight for Team India in the second T20I, but Sanju Samson also left his mark with a quickfire 39 from just 26 balls.
Samson, in fact, swung the momentum in favour of hosts when he took Sri Lanka pacer Lahiru Kumara to the cleaners in the 13th over. The right-handed batter hammered three sixes before getting out in the same over.
Captain Rohit looked impressed with Samson’s cameo as he showered praises on the Kerala batter for exhibiting his unreal potential. Rohit said players like Samson are extremely talented, and they just need consistent opportunities and backing from the team management.
“I thought Sanju showed how well he could play with that knock, it’s all about taking your opportunities. Lot of these guys are quite talented. They just need an opportunity to go out there and express themselves. We understand all these guys possess a lot of talent. So it’s just about giving the opportunity and the backing from our side,” said Rohit in the post-match presentation.
