In match 48 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Punjab Kings (PBKS) comfortably defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by eight wickets on Tuesday.

Chasing the paltry target of 144, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa took the game away from PBKS by forming a crucial 87-run stand for the second wicket. Rajapaksa was outdone by Lockie Ferguson for 40, but Dhawan kept his end alive and smashed another half-century of the season.

Dhawan stayed undefeated on 62 off 53 balls with the help of nine boundaries. Liam Livingstone played a quickfire 10-ball 30 run knock as PBKS successfully chased down the target with four overs to spare and eight wickets in hand.

Earlier, an excellent bowling display by PBKS helped them restrict Gujarat at a below-par score of 143/8 in 20 overs. Pacer Kagiso Rabada picked up a brilliant four-wicket haul for 33 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

Youngster Sai Sudharsan was the only batter who was able to stand tall against a quality bowling attack of PBKS. Sudharsan remained unbeaten at 65 from 50 deliveries, including five fours and a six.
