In a high-voltage clash, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 final to win the prestigious trophy in their maiden season.
Chasing the paltry target of 131, Gujarat finished the proceedings quite comfortably in 18.1 overs with seven wickets in hand. Opener Shubman Gill (45 not out), captain Hardik Pandya (34) and finisher David Miller (32 not out) made notable contributions with the bat to help Gujarat lift the title in their maiden season.
Earlier, an excellent bowling display from Gujarat restricted Rajasthan to just 130/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Pandya led from the front, taking a brilliant three wicket haul for just 17 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Pandya dismissed the likes of Jos Buttler (39), Sanju Samson (14), and Shimron Hetymer (11).

What a dream debut season for Gujarat Titans. @hardikpandya7 has been absolutely brilliant as a leader and player. This has been a fantastic IPL and great to see a new champion. Jos Buttler was in a league of his own and Rajasthan Royals can be proud of their season. #IPLFinal pic.twitter.com/dnTKOoAO4K

#HardikPandya most influential factor in #Titans win. Stellar all-round performances, more crucially, superb as leader. Skeptics abounded when he was made captain. Proved all of them wrong. Led from the front, read match situations astutely, inspired the out from his players
