Team India, on Sunday, sealed the ODI series against England after registering victory in the deciding third and final game by five wickets at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

The epic series triumph over England inspired Rohit Sharma’s side to acquire third place just ahead of arch-rivals Pakistan on the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings.

India currently have a rating of 109, three points ahead of Babar Azam-led Pakistan (106). New Zealand lead all countries with a rating of 128 points, while England are at second place with 121 points.

Notably, India defeated England by five wickets in the third ODI to clinch the series. A maiden century by Rishabh Pant and a phenomenal all-round display by Hardik Pandya helped ‘Men in Blue’ register a memorable victory.

For his scintillating century, Pant was named ‘Player of the Match’. The wicketkeeper-batter mentioned he always enjoyed playing in England.

“Hopefully, I remember (this knock) for the rest of my life. I was focusing on one ball at a time when I was batting. When your team is under pressure and you bat like that .. something, I aspire to do. I always enjoy playing in England, at the same time enjoy the atmosphere and the situation. The more you play, the more experience you gain. Nothing to take away from the bowlers, it was a good wicket to bat on, and the bowlers did a commendable job to restrict them, they were brilliant not only today but for the entire series,” said Pant after the match.
