An all-round effort from South Africa helped them crush England in the third and final T20I to clinch the series at The Rose Bowl in Southampton on Sunday.
After being asked to bat first, the Proteas had a terrible start as they lost the explosive opener, Quinton de Kock, for a three-ball duck in the first over. But then the visitors turned things around completely, punishing English bowlers all around the ground to put up a mammoth total.
Reeza Hendricks was the leader of the attack, smashing 70 from just 50 deliveries, including nine boundaries. Similarly, Aiden Markram also shined with the willow and played an unbeaten knock of 51 off 36 balls to help South Africa post a massive 191/5 in their assigned 20 overs.
Apart from the duo of Hendricks and Markram, Rilee Rossouw (31 off 18) and David Miller (22 off 9) chipped in with some valuable contributions to make sure the tourists get to a formidable total.
In reply, the Jos Buttler-led England bundled out for a mere 101 in 16.4 overs to lose the contest by 90 runs as well as the T20I series. Spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was the chief destroyer as he picked up his maiden five-wicket haul to demolish the hosts’ batting line-up. The left-armer bagged a fifer while conceding only 24 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

Special effort from the boys to turn it around after that 1st T20. Setting up for a great test series to follow. #ENGvSA Great energy and hunger to this squad. Great to have Rilee and Stubbs bring a new dimension to this batting line up……
