Like every season, Perth Scorchers – the most successful team in the Men’s Big Bash League (BBL) – has continued their domination in the ongoing 2022-23 edition of the T20 tournament. The Scorchers registered their fifth win of the season after defeating Melbourne Renegades by five wickets at Docklands Stadium on Sunday.

Batting first, the Renegades posted 155/6 thanks to former skipper Aaron Finch’s blistering half-century. The veteran scored 65 from 48 deliveries, with the help of 6 fours and a couple of sixes. For the Scorchers, Andrew Tye was the pick of the bowler, bagging three wickets while conceding 32 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

In response, the contest went down to the wire, where Scorchers managed to chase down the target with two balls to spare. Cameron Bancroft and Josh Inglis partnered for a crucial stand to get their side home. While Bancroft smashed 46 off 32 balls, Inglis went on to score 47 from 34 deliveries.
