England women cricketer Danielle Wyatt (nicknamed Danni) announced her engagement with same-sex partner Georgie Hodge on Thursday, March 2.

According to her Instagram bio, Georgie is the head of women’s football at CAA Base and an FA-licensed agent in London. The 31-year-old Dannie, meanwhile, has played 102 ODIs and 143 T20Is for her national team.

“Mine forever,” the cricketer captioned her social media post.

In the picture, Georgie could be seen flaunting her ring as the couple kissed each other for the camera.

Reacting to the development, women cricketers Alexandra Hartley, Sarah Taylor, Harleen Deol, Veda Krishnamurthy, Pooja Vastrakar, Alana King, Amelia Kerr, among others, congratulated the pair on the special occasion.

Indian cricket fans fondly remember Danni for ‘proposing’ marriage to Virat Kohli. “Kholi marry me!!” she had tweeted back in 2014.

As soon as Danni shared the news of her engagement, Twitterati started a meme fest and wrote: “Cricketer who proposed to Kohli once got engaged.”

Danni went unsold in the 2023 Women’s Premier League (WPL) Auction and will not be part of the inaugural WPL edition. She took to Twitter to express disappointment on not being picked for the tournament.

However, the English all-rounder can still get a chance as a replacement player if any team wants.
