Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) decision to sign leg-spinner Amit Mishra at the 2023 IPL auction for a sum of INR 50 lakh paid off well. Despite being 40 years old and playing only T20 cricket, Mishra proved his worth in the IPL 2023 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, April 7.

Mishra’s brilliance was not just limited to his bowling performance. He took a stunning catch at short third-man to dismiss SRH batter Rahul Tripathi.

Here’s the video:

Fans were left in awe seeing a player of his age take such a spectacular catch.

The India veteran was not done yet, as he went on to pick up the wickets of Adil Rashid and Washington Sundar. This took his total tally in the IPL to an impressive 168 wickets.

Towards the end of the SRH innings, Mishra was substituted by ‘Impact Player’ Ayush Badoni.

Mishra’s outstanding performance proved that age is just a number when it comes to talent and skill, and he justified LSG’s faith in him.
