India’s star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is well-known for his witty responses and reactions on social media. The off-spinner never shies away from putting forward his thoughts and is highly active on the internet. Ashwin once again couldn’t stop himself from commenting on the recent pitch invasion incident at the Lord’s during the second Ashes 2023 Test and shared a hilarious reaction on England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow taking one of the protestors outside the field.

It is worth mentioning that two ‘Just Stop Oil’ protestors disrupted the play on Day 1 of the second Ashes 2023 Test by invading the pitch and throwing orange powder. The security was quick to catch one of the two activists. However, the second protestor was carried off the field by Bairstow. The incident became a major talking point on the internet and garnered huge attention from cricket enthusiasts. Ashwin also shared his reaction to the same.

The off-spinner first posted the video on his Instagram story and captioned it “Free ride for the pitch invader.”

Ashwin further took to Twitter and wrote yet another hilarious caption on Bairstow lifting the protestor.

“Good start to the 2nd Test. Bairstow has done some heavy lifting already,” Tweeted the Tamil Nadu cricketer.

On the work front, Ashwin is currently captaining the Dindigul Dragons (DD) side in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023 and will return to action in international cricket when India faces West Indies in two Tests next month.

Speaking of the Lord’s Test, England’s decision to bowl first completely backfired as Australian batters displayed great character and helped the Aussie side finish the opening day on a score of 339/5. David Warner (66) and Travis Head (77) hammered brilliant fifties for the visitors, while Steve Smith is unbeaten on 85 and is heading towards his hundred.
