In a nail-biting encounter at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India A emerged victorious, defeating Bangladesh A by 51 runs in the second semi-final of the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023.
Bangladesh A won the toss and chose to bowl, putting India A into bat first. The Indian batsmen showcased their prowess, setting a competitive target of 211 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 49.1 overs. Yash Dhull was the standout performer, scoring a magnificent 66 runs off 85 deliveries. Abhishek Sharma (34) and Sai Sudharsan (21) also contributed crucial runs to the team’s total. For Bangladesh A, Mahedi Hasan and Tanzim Hasan Sakib claimed two wickets each.
Chasing the target, Bangladesh A battled hard but were eventually bowled out for 160 runs in 34.2 overs. Tanzid Hasan displayed an impressive knock, scoring 51 runs off 56 balls, while Mohammad Naim added 38 runs to the total. However, India A’s bowlers, led by Nishant Sindhu’s brilliant spell of 5 wickets for 20 runs, proved to be the difference-makers. Manav Suthar‘s three-wicket haul and Yuvrajsinh Dodiya‘s crucial breakthrough also contributed significantly to India A’s triumph.
The Indian team’s collective effort in both batting and bowling departments led them to a well-deserved victory. With this win, India A progresses to the final of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan A registered a comprehensive victory over Sri Lanka A in the first semifinal at P Sara Oval, Colombo.
After posting a mammoth total of 322 on the board in their stipulated overs, Pakistan A bundled out Sri Lanka A for just 262 in 45.4 overs.
