India’s star batter Virat Kohli has a huge fan following across social media platforms and often updates his admirers about his fitness and travelling routine through Instagram and Twitter. The former India cricketer recently shared an Instagram story expressing his happiness over clearing the Yo-Yo Test with an impressive score of 17.2 ahead of the Asia Cup 2023.
The story shared by Kohli soon became a major talking point among cricket enthusiasts, and many people lauded the Delhi-born cricketer for his determination towards fitness. However, it didn’t go down well with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
BCCI issues stern warning to India cricketers
According to a report by Indian Express, hours after Kohli’s story, a guideline was issued to Indian cricketers by BCCI that said no cricketer should share his Yo-Yo Test score on social media platforms as it comes under confidential information. The report claimed that the warning was given to the Indian team verbally as the BCCI top officials informed them that not following the rules can lead to a ‘Breach of Contract’.
“Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
