However, the post-match celebrations took a violent turn as fans engaged in physical altercations, leaving a dark mark on an otherwise exciting cricket match.
Following the conclusion of the match, a disturbing incident took place within the stadium premises. A video capturing the altercation between fans has gone viral on the internet. In the video, a fan wearing a Sri Lankan jersey is seen rushing towards another individual and engaging in a physical altercation, throwing punches.
Furthermore, a group of individuals is seen in the video issuing a stern warning to two other persons, instructing them to leave the ground.

Dunith Wellalage’s 5-fer restrict India at a paltry total
Team India faced a challenging task after being bundled out for just 213 runs in 49.1 overs. Sri Lanka’s bowlers, particularly Dunith Wellalage and Charith Asalanka, delivered outstanding performances to restrict the Indian batting lineup. Wellalage’s brilliant 5-wicket haul included the dismissals of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya. Asalanka supported him with a 4-wicket haul.

Indian skipper Rohit emerged as the top-scorer, contributing 53 runs off 48 balls, featuring 7 fours and 2 sixes. Despite Rohit’s efforts, the Indian innings struggled to gain momentum.
Sri Lanka fall short after Kuldeep Yadav’s splendid bowling
In response, Sri Lanka fought valiantly with Dhananjaya de Silva (41 off 66) and Wellalage (42 off 46) providing crucial support. However, they ultimately fell short of the target, being bowled out for 172 runs in 41.3 overs.
Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the star with the ball for India, securing four crucial wickets for 43 runs in 9.3 overs. Similarly, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja contributed with 2 wickets for 33 runs in his 10 overs.
