Adidas has revealed the official Team India jersey for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, marking a significant moment in India’s cricketing history as they solely host the multi-nation event for the first time.
While India has previously co-hosted the World Cup on three occasions in 1987, 1996, and 2011, this edition promises to be unique as it will unfold across ten venues: Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi, Dharamsala, and Lucknow. Ten teams will compete in the thirteenth edition of the ICC event, scheduled from October 5 to November 19.
With just over two weeks to go before the grand tournament kicks off, Adidas, the official kit sponsor of Team India, has unveiled the new jersey. On Wednesday, Adidas shared a video on social media and captioned it as, “1983 ignited the spark. 2011 brought in glory. 2023 marks the beginning of #3KaDream.”

Notably, Adidas made two significant changes in India’s jersey.
Energetic tricolour bands
A striking departure from conventional designs is evident as the jersey’s iconic three white shoulder stripes have been substituted with vibrant tricolour bands. This bold and deliberate design change is a poignant tribute to India’s deep-rooted cultural heritage and resolute national pride, making a powerful statement.
Honouring past triumphs
Adorning the jersey with two prominent stars just above the BCCI logo is a touching gesture, symbolizing India’s historic triumphs in the ODI World Cup, notably in 1983 and 2011. These stars stand as an enduring symbol, constantly evoking memories of India’s remarkable cricketing achievements on the world stage, instilling a sense of pride and accomplishment among fans and players alike.
‘3 Ka Dream’ Campaign
In an inspiring move, Team India has named their World Cup campaign as ‘3 Ka Dream,’ which translates to “the dream of 3.” In this context, the number 3 symbolizes India’s aspiration to clinch their third ODI World Cup victory. This campaign embodies the team’s unwavering determination and ambition to make history once again in the world of cricket.
As cricket enthusiasts eagerly count down the days until the commencement of the World Cup , the unveiling of Team India’s jersey amplifies the excitement and anticipation surrounding this grand sporting event. With the entire nation rallying behind their cricketing heroes, the Men in Blue are keen to embark on a journey to turn the dream of ‘3 Ka Dream’ into a glorious reality.
