Shubman’s substantial-performance ultimately led to India clinching victory by a substantial margin of 99 runs. This century marked Gill’s first against Australia, making him the quickest Indian batter to reach the milestone of six ODI centuries in terms of innings played, surpassing Shikhar Dhawan, who took 46 knocks to hit six ODI tons.

A viral video circulating on social media captured the crowd’s playful chants during the Sunday clash. Spectators could be heard chanting, “Hamari Bhabhi Kaisi Ho, Sara Bhabhi Jaisi Ho,” in a light-hearted attempt to tease Shubman while he was at the crease. The chanting stemmed from Gill’s alleged affair with Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar.

With the win in Indore, India have taken an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Both sides will encounter for the third and final time on September 27 before plunging into the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled to kick off on October 5.
The Men in Blue will kick off the preparations with their first warm-up match against England on September 30, slated of be played at the Assam Cricket Association in Guwahati.
