New Zealand vs Bangladesh: 3rd ODI match predictions and betting tips

Hosts New Zealand are 2-0 up. They will be looking for a clean sweep when they face Bangladesh in the final ODI of their three-match series on Saturday. The visitors will be looking to snap the Black Caps’ winning streak. A victory for the Tigers in Napier would make history as they would become the first Bangladesh team to win a match in New Zealand.

Predictions for New Zealand vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI match

Ahead of the three upcoming T20s, Bangladesh will be hoping for a confidence-building win in the final match of the ODI series. They did make a bit of a fist of it in Nelson. But even a magnificent 169 from Soumya Sarkar couldn’t secure their first win, as New Zealand cantered to a 7-wicket victory.

The Black Caps have convincingly won both ODIs. They will be looking to close out the series with another win, keeping the pressure on. Barring something extraordinary, we see New Zealand making it 3-0.

⚡ Quick tips for New Zealand vs Bangladesh match

📝 New Zealand vs Bangladesh betting tips

As was the case in the second match of the series, the best cricket betting sites in India have again made New Zealand their short-priced favourites. The Black Caps are 1.19 to win the third match. They are as short as 1.16 again with some bookmakers. A history-making win for Bangladesh is at best odds of 5.0.

Such has been the ease with which New Zealand won the first two matches, a bet on them winning the third looks safe. But if you prefer better value, check out our additional betting tips below.

1. Litton Das under 25.5 runs – 1.87 at Rajabets

Litton Das has had a very poor series so far. Even by his average standards of late. Batting at number four, he has recorded scores of just 22 and six in the opening two matches, and he sports the look of a man who doesn’t want to be there.

Some bookmakers are as low as 21.5 on his total runs spread. So we think 1.87 for under 25.5 runs is an excellent value from Rajabets.

2. Shoriful Islam to get over 1.5 wickets – 2.5 at 1xBet

Shoriful Islam has been by far the best and most effective Bangladesh bowler of the series. He picked up 2/28 at a run rate of 4.66 in the first match and 1/49 at a run rate of 5.44 in the second. He has the best economy rate of the visiting bowling attack.

The over 1.5 wickets bet won in the first ODI, and despite Islam only picking up one scalp in the second, we think this is a bet worth revisiting. He can be backed at 3.5 to be the top bowler. But if the Black Caps collapse, he might be out-performed, making over 1.5 wickets the better value bet.

3. Rachin Ravindra to be the player of the match – 5.6 at Bettilt

Rachin Ravindra has had a quiet series based on his form at the recent ICC Cricket World Cup. With the bat, he has recorded scores of 0 and 45. With the ball, he has figures of 1/20 and 0/19.

Not exactly form that shouts out from the rooftops that he is a cert to be player of the match. But the young all-rounder was outstanding with the bat in the World Cup. And with this pitch expected to be more spin-friendly than the previous two, his bowling also comes into the equation.

Ravindra has just been picked up by – no less than – the Chennai Super Kings to play in the 2024 Indian Premier League. This will be a huge boost to both confidence and ego. Would it not just be typical to see Ravindra produce a match-winning performance in Napier?

Pitch condition for New Zealand vs Bangladesh match

The last ODI here was in 2019. Back then, Bangladesh were bowled out for 232, with New Zealand cruising to an eight-wicket win. The seamers did the bulk of the work, but Mitchell Santner chipped in with three wickets.

We expect a similar wicket this Saturday – so don’t be shocked if a spinner plays a significant role. Also, no rain is forecast, with a clear day expected.
