WATCH: Sachin Tendulkar reveals the reason behind Steve Smith’s success in Ashes 2019

Australian star batsman Steve Smith made a dream comeback to Test cricket, scoring 774 runs in the Ashes series. Due to his top-class batting performance, Smith surpasses Indian skipper Virat Kohli to gain the top spot in ICC Test Rankings.

Throughout the Ashes series, there were a lot of discussions and analyses regarding Steve Smith’s recent success, explaining his temperament, technique, and skill set. Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar also described it as “COMPLICATED TECHNIQUE but an ORGANIZED MINDSET.

In a recent video posted on social media, Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar did a full analysis of Smith’s batting technique.

In the first Test, the English bowlers tried getting him out. The slip cordon was three slips and a gully. What he started doing was he would shuffle across and expose his leg-stump, so that he covered this line. He was leaving and being selective, very smartly,” told Sachin.

Sachin also mentioned how Steve covered his leg stump when English bowlers were targeting him on that side. “The most important factor I noticed was whenever there was a leg-slip, he did not move his left foot, it was always guarding his leg stump,” explained Sachin.
