India senior team opening batsman Rohit Sharma on Wednesday (January 22) sent best wishes to the India junior team featuring in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020 in South Africa.
Led by Priyam Garg, the defending champions have started their campaign with two thumping victories. While the Boys in Blue thumped Sri Lanka by 90 runs in the first group match, they thrashed Japan by ten wickets in their second game.
Rohit, who has appeared in the 2006 edition of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, took to Twitter to extend his wishes and support to Garg & Co. for the remaining campaign.
“Best wishes to the under-19 cricket team in South Africa. They are already off to a great start, hope they can defend the title and bring it back,” Team Indian’s limited-over vice-captain tweeted.

Having secured four points from two games, the India Under-19 side is also leading the points chart in Group A.
India will next take on New Zealand in their last group match in Bloemfontein on Friday (January 24).
