Rajasthan Royals will play two of their seven home matches of the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
Earlier, the Jaipur-based franchise requested the IPL Governing Council (IPL GC) to move all their home matches to a different venue.
The franchises were unhappy about the basic facilities and amenities provided by Rajasthan Cricket Association’s premier stadium.
Also, the mode of conveyance was another issue that spectators faced post-late-night ends to the T20 matches.
However, the IPL GC did not allow all their matches to be shifted to Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, but only two of their seven matches.
The Royals took to their Twitter account to break the news to their followers on Thursday. Also, they announced their complete schedule of the upcoming season of the cash-rich league.
“The Royals are bringing the IPL to the Northeast for the very first time, expanding cricket’s footprint in the region. Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes, See you in April, Guwahati!,” the double R’s posted on Twitter.
