Kapil Dev lauds Ranveer Singh for his efforts
Speaking to Gaurav Kapur on the talk show Breakfast with Champions, Kapil shared an insight into the ’83 film and lauded Ranveer for his hard work and perseverance. The former Indian captain said that director Kabir and actor Ranveer focused on every minute detail while making the film and also focused on his accent and pronunciation of words.
Further, Kapil said that Ranveer worked very hard to establish a fast bowler’s attitude and the biggest challenge for him was to make the World Cup-winning captain angry. The ‘Haryana Hurricane’ revealed that he only let his temper out on the pitch only in the heat of the moment but could never do it when not playing a match.
Kapil had earlier heaped praises on Ranveer’s effort in portraying his role in the ’83 film and claimed that the actor worked brilliantly to emulate his bowling steps. As quoted by Filmfare, Kapil said that Ranveer worked continuously for eight hours in peak summer to get understand the rhythm of his bowling.
The former India captain added that in conditions like those, even professional cricketers avoid training to save themselves from the risk of injury and he initially feared for the 35-year-old’s fitness.
