BCCI President Sourav Ganguly turned 48 on Wednesday (July 08), and wishes came pouring in to wish the former Indian captain.

Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Kaif, VVS Laxman, Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli among others took to Twitter to wish Ganguly on his birthday.

Yuvraj, in his tweet for Ganguly on his birthday, wrote: “Happy Birthday to the undisputed Dada of Indian Cricket. You have always led from the front, showing us what it means to be a true leader. I have learnt a lot from you & hope to become to others what you are to me. You are our eternal captain @SGanguly99 #HappyBirthdayDada.”

Batting legend Tendulkar in his birthday message for Ganguly wrote, “Happy Birthday Dadi! Hope our-off field partnership keeps going strong like our on-field ones. Wish you a blessed year ahead.”

Kaif, on the other hand, wished Ganguly by sharing the pictures from the 2002 Natwest Series final and captioned his post as: “From a fine batsman to an outstanding captain and now leading Indian cricket on the whole- here’s wishing my favourite captain and mentor @SGanguly99 a very happy birthday. But FAULADI SEENA dikha ke raise kaun chadta hai, Dada.”

Under Ganguly, the ‘Men in Blue’ played 146 ODI matches. They won 76 matches, and lost 65 games, while five encounters went into a no result. Dada’s ODI’s win percentage was at 53.90.

He also guided the Indian team in the white jersey to 21 wins, of the 49 matches he led. His Test side lost 13 and tied/drew 15 games, making his win percentage in the longest format as 42.85.
