In the latest T20I Rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, Virat Kohli has slipped out of the top-10 amongst batters category.

Kohli was able to keep his 10th spot for a few days, but the T20I series between India and Sri Lanka left its ramifications on the rankings, which the former captain missed after taking a rest. Kohli fell out of the top 10 after dropping five places to 15th.

Along with Kohli, current skipper Rohit Sharma also slipped two spots to 13th after an ordinary outing against the Lankans. The Mumbaikar only managed to score 50 runs in the three matches against the tourists.

One of the major gainers amongst the batters was Shreyas Iyer, who enjoyed a fruitful T20I battle against the Islanders. Iyer smashed three unbeaten half-centuries during the three-match leg that India clean swept.

The 27-year-old amassed 204 runs at a tremendous strike rate of 174. His efforts with the willow helped him jump 27 places to 18th on the latest batter rankings. On the other hand, KL Rahul, who also missed the Sri Lanka series due to an injury, is the only Indian among the top 10 rankings headed by Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka smashed an impressive 75 in the second game of the series and was rewarded with a six-spot rise to ninth on the rankings.

Amongst the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar advanced three positions to the 17th after an impressive outing against the Islanders. Further, Bhuvneshwar is the only Indian bowler among the top 20. The closest Indian bowler to Bhuvneshwar is pacer Jasprit Bumrah at 28th in the rankings owned by Tabraiz Shasmi, who sits comfortably at the top spot with 784 points.
