Gujarat Titans (GT) notched up a thrilling win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 35 of IPL 2022 on Saturday, April 23.

After opting to bat first at the tricky surface of DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, the Titans posted a competitive score of 159/6 with the help of Hardik Pandya’s 49-ball 67.

For KKR, Tim Southee bowled brilliantly as he picked up three wickets for 24 runs. All-rounder Andre Russell picked up four wickets in the last over of the first innings, which was also his only over in the match.

In reply, the Knight Riders found themselves in trouble after being reduced to 34/4 in 6.1 overs. But Russell once again stepped up to the occasion and hit 48 runs off just 25 deliveries. Alzarri Joseph removed his countryman to drill the final nail in KKR’s coffin and guide GT to an eight-run victory.
