The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), on Saturday, registered their fourth win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 16 runs. The Faf du Plessis-led Bangalore posted a massive 189/5 on the board after being asked to bat first and then restricted DC to 173/7.

The likes of Dinesh Karthik (66 not out off 34) and Glenn Maxwell (55 off 34) were the stars with the willow, smashing respective half-centuries to power RCB to a big total.

Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli failed to contribute with the bat as he got run out for 12. However, the 33-year-old made sure that he compensate for his batting failure with his fielding. In the second innings, he grabbed a stunning catch to get rid of DC skipper Rishabh Pant, who was batting at a strike rate of over 200 and looking set to turn the game.

It all happened in the 17th over bowled by Mohammad Siraj. Pant was gifted a juicy full toss on the off-side, but he lost his balance while slicing the ball towards the cover region.

Meanwhile, Kohli displayed excellent athleticism and swung out an arm to pluck the ball out of thin air and complete a one-handed stunner.

Here is the video:

Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull, who was on-air when Kohli took the unbelievable catch, praised the Delhi-born cricketer for his incredible efforts after the match. Doull compared Kohli’s brilliance to an iconic leaping pose of basketball legend Michael Jordan.

“He was right on the edge of the circle. When you got Rishabh Pant going, you have to be right on the edge of the circle. You’re happy with a single… no issues with that. But we saw a Jordan-esque effort from Virat. When you are not contributing with the bat, these things matter,” said Doull.
