Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star player Ambati Rayudu grabbed a sensational catch against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match 21 of IPL 2022 at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the 16th over of the second innings bowled by CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. In an attempt to get a single, Akash just pushed the ball in the short-cover region. But, the ball held onto the surface while Rayudu dived to his right to pull off an absolute blinder with one hand.

The 36-year-old was soon surrounded by his teammates as they sensed their first victory of the season.

CSK beat RCB by 23 runs

Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube’s whirlwind third-wicket partnership powered CSK to the highest score of the ongoing edition – 216/4 – and as expected, it turned out to be too much for the Faf Du Plessis-led side. RCB lost the big wickets of Du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat within the powerplay overs. Power-hitter Glenn Maxwell hit some big shots but was soon undone by a quicker delivery from Jadeja.

Shahbaz Ahmed, Suyash Prabhudessai and Dinesh Karthik were the only contributors with the bat for RCB; on the other hand, mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana picked up a four-wicket haul for the defending champions.
