The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Monday, announced the ‘Most Valuable Team of the Tournament’ of the recently concluded Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022.

Australia and England met each other in the final of the multi-team event, where the Aussies held their nerves and defeated their arch-rivals by 71 runs to claim their seventh Women’s World Cup title.

The selection panel, which picked the team, included commentators like Lisa Sthalekar, Nasser Hussain, Natalie Germanos and journalists such as Alok Gupta and Kristy Havill. The panel also features ICC Convenor Chris Tetley.

Many factors like economy rates, strike rates and contributions towards victories were being taken into consideration. Notably, as many as four Australians, three South Africans, two England players and one each from West Indies and Bangladesh are part of the team. However, no Indian players could book a place in the special XI.
