India and Australia will lock horns in the first T20I of the three-match series at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday, September 20. The last time both teams met at Mohali was back in the 2016 T20 World Cup, where the hosts had won the semifinal through a thrilling chase.

The Men in Blue have had a terrible time in the recently-concluded Asia Cup and would be eying to register a victory to take the early lead. Similarly, the Aussies would also be looking to start the three-match leg with a win to fancy their chances of leading the series.

Pitch report:

The pitch at PCA stadium offers decent support to both fast bowlers as well as batters due to extra bounce on the track. Dew factor will be taken into consideration at the toss.

Probable XIs:

India: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant/Dinesh Karthik, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, R Ashwin/Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah

Australia: Aaron Finch, Matthew Wade, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Cameron Green, Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Daniel Sams, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Match Prediction:

Case 1:

  • India wins the toss and bowls first
  • Powerplay score: 40-50
  • Australia total: 160-170

Case 2:

  • Australia wins the toss and bowls first
  • Powerplay score: 45-55
  • India total: 165-175

Team batting second to win the contest.
