After an impressive performance with the bat in the second ODI against South Africa, Indian batting sensation Ishan Kishan interacted with fans and the ground staff at his home ground in Ranchi.

Kishan, who represents Jharkhand in domestic cricket, was one of the star performers in India’s emphatic win over the Proteas. He scored a brilliant 93 off 84 balls and formed a 161-run third-wicket stand with Shreyas Iyer (113* off 111) as the hosts chased down 279 in 45.5 overs to level the three-match series.

After the dominating win, Kishan had a heartening chat with fans and members of the ground staff. As the local boy was heading back to the dressing room, the 24-year-old displayed a note given to him by a fan, which had ‘Shardul Thakur 54’ written on it along with a heart symbol (54 is Thakur’s jersey number).

Upon reaching the dressing room, Kishan delivered a special note from a fan to Shardul, who smilingly posed with it. The official Twitter handle of BCCI shared the adorable post-match video.

Here is the video:

When it comes to the match, South Africa, after batting first, posted a competitive 278/7 on the board in 50 overs. Reeza Hendricks (74) and Aiden Markram (79) starred for the tourists, adding 129 for the third wicket. For India, Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowler, claiming 3/38 in his quota of 10 overs.

In response, the Men in Blue lost both openers Shikhar Dhawan (13) and Shubman Gill (28) early. Kishan and Shreyas then ensured India’s comeback and took the hosts over the finish line to keep them alive in the series.
