Team India registered a dominating victory in their second match in Super 12s of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 against the Netherlands at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday (October 27).

The trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav sizzled with the bat before the Indian bowlers shined to propel India to a comfortable win.

While there were quite a few moments of players that captured everyone’s attention, one incident featuring fans in the stands grabbed maximum eyeballs.

A boy decided to showcase his love in front of thousands of people and was spotted proposing to his girlfriend. In a viral video, the person went down on his knees and asked his girlfriend to marry him. The girl in the video seemed surprised but eventually said ‘Yes’, and the crowd could be heard cheering for them.

Here is the video:

In the game, batting first, India posted 179/2 in their stipulated overs, courtesy of brilliant half-centuries from captain Rohit, superstar Kohli and Suryakumar. Rohit smashed 53 off 39 balls, before Kohli (62 not out) and Suryakumar (51 not out) formed an unbeaten 95-run partnership to take India to an imposing total.

In reply, the Netherlands could only manage to reach 123/9, losing the contest by 56 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar shinned with the ball, picking up two wickets for nine runs in 3 overs.

“I was just trying to express myself when I went in to bat. The situation was very simple, I just had to up the tempo at that time. I took one ball today (to get going), but the message was loud and clear. We had to get about 8-10 an over and get a total that our bowlers could defend easily. Very happy with the way things went. Really enjoying batting with him (Kohli), the thoughts are very clear when we both are batting,” said Suryakumar in the post-match presentation.
