The Indian cricket team landed in Guwahati on Thursday (September 29) for their upcoming second T20I against South Africa, which will take place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Sunday (October 2).
The 45,000-capacity stadium last hosted a T20I fixture on January 5, 2020, when India were up against Sri Lanka. However, the game got washed out due to rain and wet pitch.
Notably, the rain is expected to play its part for the second T20I as well, but fans and players from both teams are hopeful of a full 40-over contest. On the eve of the second match, India attended a practice session and a large number of fans got the opportunity to see their favourite stars.
Some lucky fans even got an opportunity to meet superstar Virat Kohli at Barsapara Stadium. Not to mention, Kohli is one of the most popular cricketers both on and off the pitch and enjoys a god-like status amongst his fans. The Delhi-lad always appreciates his admirers and was seen in Guwahati as well where he graciously met his fans and even clicked pictures with them which went viral on the internet.

The hosts are leading the three-match series 1-0 after their impressive win in the opening T20I in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday (September 28). Though, Virat failed to impress with the bat and returned to the pavilion after scoring just three runs from nine balls.
Notably, Virat, who took a six-week break in July-August, made a comeback in the Asia Cup 2022 where the right-handed batter finished as the leading run getter for the Men in Blue.
During the Asia Cup, Kohli also ended his long wait for an international century after smashing unbeaten 122 from just 61 deliveries against Afghanistan in the Super Four match.
