India batter KL Rahul tied the marriage knot with his long-time girlfriend and Bollywood Athiya Shetty on Monday (January 23). Athiya is the daughter of veteran actor Suniel Shetty, and the wedding ceremony took place at a farmhouse in Khandala.

Rahul and Athiya’s private wedding function was only attended by the couple’s family members and some close friends. Despite having the invite, Rahul’s cricketer friends and Athiya’s friends from the film fraternity gave the wedding a miss due to their busy schedules.

Team India was scheduled to play the third ODI against New Zealand in Indore on Tuesday (January 24), and that’s why Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and others failed to make it to the wedding.

Though Kohli could not attend the marriage ceremony, he gave a memorable gift to Rahul and Athiya.

According to reports, Kohli has gifted the newlyweds a BMW luxury car worth Rs 2.17 crore. The father of the bride has gifted the couple an apartment worth Rs 50 lakh, whereas Bollywood actor Salman Khan gifted Athiya an Audi car worth Rs 1.64 crore.

Well, the list of gifts does not end here. Former India captain MS Dhoni has reportedly gifted a Kawasaki Ninja bike to Rahul. The market price of this bike is around Rs 80 lakh. Actor Jackie Shroff bought Athiya a watch worth Rs 30 lakh from Chopard Watches, and Arjun Kapoor gifted the model-turned-actress a diamond bracelet that cost Rs 1.5 crore.

On the work front, Rahul was granted leave by the BCCI for his wedding, and he missed the recently-concluded three-match ODI series against New Zealand. He also won’t feature in the T20I leg, starting on Friday (January 27) in Ranchi.

Rahul was last seen playing in the ODI series versus Sri Lanka earlier this month. In the 50-overs rubber, the Karnataka stalwart registered scores of 39, 64 not out and 7 while batting in the middle order. He will return to action for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting February 9 in Nagpur.
