The Indian cricket team showed off their new blue jersey that was revealed in an unveiling event on Monday. The renowned Indian apparel manufacturer, Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited (KKCL), popularly known for its Killer Jeans brand, has replaced MPL Sports as the new official kit sponsor of Team India.
A day after the unveiling event in Mumbai, the BCCI shared a video of its men cricketers posing for the camera in their new kit. It all happened on the eve of the first T20I of the three-match series against Sri Lanka, set to be played at the Wankhede stadium on Tuesday.
“Lights, Camera, Action. Scenes from Team India’s headshot session ahead of the T20I series,” the BCCI captioned its post.
The video shows young pacers Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Shivam Mavi and Mukesh Kumar as well as captain Hardik Pandya and his deputy Suryakumar Yadav amongst other players. The video also shows Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal, who didn’t get enough opportunities to represent India in T20Is in recent times.

After clinching the T20I series 1-0 against the hosts New Zealand last year, Pandya will look to ensure that the Men in Blue continue their good vein of form at home. The onus will be on the youngsters to deliver in the absence of big players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami, who have been dropped from the team following their poor outing in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Interestingly, talismanic batter Virat Kohli also couldn’t find a place in the 16-member squad despite being the highest run-scorer at the T20 World Cup with 296 runs in six games.
