In the 27th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) where RCB managed to bag a 24-run win at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Thursday.

The contest saw dominance from Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Mohammed Siraj in their respective departments. While Kohli and Du Plessis shined with the bat, Siraj sizzled with outstanding bowling performance that also helped him grab the Player of the Match award.

After the match, as per the tradition of the cash-rich league, players and members from both teams met and greeted each other. However, the eye-catching moment was the meeting of Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and other RCB players with PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta.

Here is how netizens reacted:

Notably, it was Kohli, who led the team in the contest against Punjab and Du Plessis came in as an impact player as the latter was not completely fit due to his rib injury.

“The table can’t define your team. It’s towards game 13 or 14 we can try and focus on what we need to do. Faf batted really well on that pitch. His innings ensured we had that 20-30 extra at the end. The strategy was to bat deep to have a crack at 190. Told them (the bowlers) that the target was more than enough. Cannot afford to take the game deep, especially when they lost 6-7 wickets,” said Kohli at the post-match presentation.
