Rajasthan Royals (RR) made a decent start of their IPL 2023 season campaign with a thumping win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), followed by a narrow loss five-run defeat to Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Led by Sanju Samson, the team was last year’s finalists and is rated among the top favourites for the ongoing season. The squad features talented Indian youngsters and international stars, including former England captain Joe Root, who was bought by the Jaipur-based franchise for his base price of ₹1 crore at the 2023 IPL Auction.

Root is yet to make his IPL debut. He didn’t get a chance in the first two matches for RR, but would definitely be seen in action at some point during the eight-week tournament.

Recently, the Royals uploaded a video on their social media handles featuring Root and India international Yuzvendra Chahal. In the video, the duo can be seen dancing to the tunes of a popular Punjabi number ‘Bharosa tere pyar te’. RR captioned the tweet, “Welcome to IPL (Yuzi style) Roooot!”

The video showcases the camaraderie and team spirit among the players and has delighted fans of both Root and Chahal till now.

In the meanwhile, PBKS captain and veteran India opener Shikhar Dhawan has pulled Chahal’s leg on the photo and video sharing platform, Instagram.

Dhawan, who is known for his jovial behaviour, sense of humour and strong social media presence, commented “Yuzi bhai choom toh nahi liya usey tuney (Yuzi brother, hope you didn’t kiss him), with a series of teasing smiles below the video shared by the Royals.
