The IPL 2023 match between KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur was a closely contested one.

LSG posted 154 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets, which was achieved with the help of Kyle Mayers’ 42-ball 51 and Rahul’s 39 off 32 balls. They then restricted the Royals to 144 and registered their fourth win in the ongoing season of the cash-rich league.

Although LSG emerged victorious, Rahul’s performance could have been better, as he took 32 balls to score 39 runs. This slow inning could have put his team’s position in danger, but Rahul redeemed himself by playing a big shot against Yuzvendra Chahal during the fifth ball of the ninth over. The ball went on to travel a distance of 103 metres for a big six, which caught everyone’s attention.

Rahul’s wife, Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty, was in attendance at the match and was seen cheering her husband from the stands. After Rahul’s big shot, the camera focused on Athiya, who was seen celebrating her husband’s shot with claps and a wide smile. The videos of Athiya’s reactions went viral on social media platforms, adding to the excitement of the match.

In their next match, RR will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match No. 32 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, April 23. On the other hand, LSG will take on the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) in their upcoming match. Both teams will look to build on their performances in their respective matches and aim for a win to strengthen their positions in the ongoing season of IPL 2023.
