Gujarat Titans (GT) will square off against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 44th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (May 2). Notably, GT have already faced DC once in the IPL 2023, where they emerged victorious against the Delhi-based team by six wickets.

Speaking of the previous matches of both teams, Gujarat registered a win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their last game, whereas Delhi suffered a loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Vijay Shankar was the standout performer for GT in their clash against KKR as he scored, storming 51 runs off just 24 deliveries for his side. Among bowlers, Mohammed Shami picked three wickets for Gujarat in the first innings. Meanwhile, despite Mitchell Marsh’s all-round show, DC lost to SRH. Marsh hammered a quickfire 63 off 39 deliveries in the run chase and also bagged four scalps in the match.

GT currently sit at the top spot of the IPL 2023 points table and will look to maintain their dominance by defeating Delhi on Tuesday. On the other hand, DC are on the last position and will aim to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

The venue offers a batter-friendly track and tends to help the spinners more as compared to fast bowlers. However, the pacers can also extract assistance from the surface if they bowl in the right areas. The dew factor will also come into play as well.
