Gujarat Titans (GT) will square off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 62nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday (May 15). Notably, this would be the first time these two teams will face each other in the IPL 2023.

As far as the previous matches of both sides are concerned, GT lost to Mumbai Indians (MI) in their last game, whereas SRH also suffered a defeat at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Rashid Khan was the standout performer for the Gujarat-based side in their encounter against MI as he picked four wickets and hammered a quickfire 79 off 32 deliveries. However, Rashid’s all-round show went in vain as GT couldn’t chase the set target. On the other hand, despite Heinrich Klaasen’s storming 47 of 29 balls, SRH bowlers failed to defend the total and eventually ended up losing the contest.

GT currently sit at the top of the IPL 2023 points table and are just one win away from confirming their spot in the playoffs. Meanwhile, SRH are on the ninth position and needs to win every remaining match of theirs in the tournament to stay alive in the playoffs race.

Pitch report:

The Narendra Modi Stadium offers a good batting surface. It is known for its even bounce and true carry. The pitch is also relatively slow, which can help the spinners. However, fast bowlers can receive assistance from the track as well.
