IPL 2023: Mohammed Siraj indulge in verbal spat with David Warner, Philip Salt during DC vs RCB clash

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been performing impressively in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Siraj has taken 15 wickets so far, making him RCB’s top wicket-taker. However, during their match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday, the 29-year-old bowler was targeted early on by the DC batter.

Philip Salt, England cricketer who is plying his trade for DC in IPL 2023, was particularly aggressive towards Siraj. Salt hit two sixes and a four off Siraj’s bowling in his second over. This onslaught caused Siraj to lose his temper, resulting in a verbal altercation between himself, Salt and DC captain David Warner. Unfortunately, Siraj ended up conceding 28 runs without taking any wickets and was only able to bowl two overs.

After the verbal spat, DC kept their foot on the accelerator and chase down the competitive total of 182 runs in just 16.4 overs. Salt was the star performer for the home team as he finished with a score of 87 in 45 balls [8 fours and 6 sixes].

Earlier, RCB posted 181/4 on the scoreboard in their stipulated 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from Virat Kohli (55 off 46) and Mahipal Lomror (54 not out off 29). Skipper Faf du Plessis contributed with 45 in 32 balls.

For DC, Mitchell Marsh took two wickets while conceding 21 runs. Khaleel Ahmed (1/45) and Mukesh Kumar (1/30) claimed one scalp each.
