Defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) registered a clinical win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, May 7.

Put in to bat first, GT posted a daunting total of 227-2 on the scoreboard. The home then returned to restrict LSG at 171 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs. For LSG, wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock was the top scorer with 70 off 41, while his opening partner Kyle Mayers smashed 48 runs in 32 deliveries. Medium-pacer Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for GT and finished with figures of 4/29 in four overs.

Earlier, the Titans were off to a flyer with opening batters – Wriddhiman Saha (81 off 43) and Shubman Gill (94 not out off 51) taking on the LSG bowlers to the cleaners. They added 78 runs in the powerplay and went on to score 142 runs in just 12.1 overs.
