The 69th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday (May 21) saw Cameron Green score his maiden and overall ninth ton of the ongoing league. The MI batter slammed brilliant 100 runs off 47 deliveries and guided the Mumbai-based team to a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over SRH in the contest.
Green celebrated his match-winning century by jumping in joy and raising his hands. The MI all-rounder even received a standing ovation from the Mumbai dugout soon after he hit the winning runs and reached the three-figure marks. While Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma and others applauded the milestone of Green with broad smiles, legendary Sachin Tendulkar was also among those who stood up on his feet to appreciate the innings by the Aussie cricketer.
The video of the same was shared by the official IPL account on Twitter and had been winning hearts on the internet ever since its release. Notably, Green is the second batter to smash a century for MI in the IPL 2023, earlier Suryakumar Yadav also scored a ton for Mumbai in a match against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Speaking of the match, SRH posted a competitive total of 200 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs after put in to bat. Mayank Agarwal top-scored for the Hyderabad team with 83 runs in 46 deliveries. Meanwhile, Akash Madhwal was the star with the ball for MI as he bagged four wickets for his side in the first innings.
In reply, Mumbai easily chased down the set target with eight wickets and twelve balls to spare, courtesy of Green’s blistering century. Apart from Green, Rohit also contributed valuable 56 runs in the run chase. The MI skipper hammered eight fours and one six during his knock.
Green was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for his sensational knock.
