The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was a dream season for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans as they witnessed MS Dhoni and Co. lift their fifth league title. The triumph turned out to be even more special when their favourite player Dhoni spoke about the plan to return in the next season as a gift from his side to the fans. However, the latest video from the CSK’s official social media handle has now left Dhoni’s admirers wondering if ‘Captain Cool’ is going to retire from the cash-rich league.
The 33-second clip shared by CSK across social media handles is supported by an emotional background score and depicts Dhoni climbing stairs as he walks back to the pavilion. The images of the moments from IPL 2023 were also superimposed on the video.

It is worth mentioning that the internet was recently flooded with Dhoni appreciation messages as the heartbroken fans recalled the 41-year-old’s illustrious career after India’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 Final loss against Australia.
Amidst all this also took place a controversial incident, where veteran India spinner and Dhoni’s former teammate Harbhajan Singh blasted out on a fan over giving all the credit for India’s ICC trophy victories to the Jharkhand cricketer.
Yes when these matches were played this young boy was playing alone from india.. not the other 10 .. so alone he won the World Cup trophies .. irony when Australia or any other nation win the World Cup headlines says Australia or etc country won. But when indian wins it’s said… https://t.co/pFaxjkXkWV

Notably, India won three ICC events, including ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy under Dhoni’s leadership, and he’s the only skipper in the world cricket’s history to win all major international cricketing tournaments.
The past few days were a roller coaster ride of emotions for the Dhoni supporters. While the Tweet from Harbhajan left many fans fuming in anger, what now has evoked agony in them is the video posted by CSK that seems a possible goodbye tribute to Dhoni.
Here’s how fans reacted:
If this is a prelude to his retirement, we should respectfully accept his decision and celebrate his all time illustrious career !

Dhoni was blamed for all the losses and people burnt his posters, attacked his house, people say Dhoni lost nth no. of tourneys but the other 10 players didn't get any of the blame
If he's the one who got blamed then he should be the one to get praised too it's as simple as that https://t.co/zszJIoP5e8 pic.twitter.com/g8Y0WTNGiO

Thank God. MS Dhoni gave that last over to Joginder & not you. The way Misbah was rattling you, you would've bottled it for us. Those brave calls win you trophies and that decision was taken by him only and not other 10.
he won us that WC with those calls. Keep Crying#MSDhoni https://t.co/J0yxqsWBQX pic.twitter.com/RcYIeQ1JDi— 𝙈𝙎𝘿 ⁷ (@cric_not_out) June 12, 2023
It was Dhoni's decision to not give you the final over. If that decision would have been backfired, then dhoni is only one would have been got blamed not the other 10. Hope this helps 🌝✍️ https://t.co/joU4WJ6B4j
