Team India has arrived in Barbados for their upcoming all-format away series against West Indies. This tour marks the end of India’s month-long break following the tough defeat in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 against Australia in London last month.
Soon after their arrival on Caribbean soil, the Indian squad was seen enjoying their time by playing beach volleyball. It is worth mentioning that India reached West Indies ten days before the commencement of the series that is scheduled to begin from July 12.
The players who participated in the fun drill to shrug off their jet lag included the likes of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohammed Siraj and many others. Indian team’s head coach Rahul Dravid and fielding coach R Sridhar also enjoyed the break alongside Indian players. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan spent his time watching the play and recording it on his mobile phone.
The video of the joyful moment was shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on their official Twitter handle.

Team India’s strength and conditioning coach, Soham Desai, also featured towards the end of the two-minute video clip and expressed his gratitude to the management for granting the team a two-day break. He further mentioned that the players will soon be back on the grind, sweating it out in the nets as part of their preparations for the upcoming series.
Speaking of India’s tour to the West Indies, the series comprises two Test matches, which will be played at Windsor Park and Queen’s Park Oval from July 12 to July 24. Following the Tests, the action will move to Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago for the crucial ODIs. The tour will conclude with a series of five T20I matches, with the final two fixtures scheduled to take place in Lauderhill, United States.
