West Indies defeat India by four runs

Despite Varma’s impressive performance, Team India were unable to secure a victory in the first T20I held in Trinidad. Opting to bat first, West Indies faced early struggles in gaining momentum. However, Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell stepped up in the middle order, showcasing commendable batting skills and contributing significantly to the home team’s total of 149/6.

The chase for India began with a less-than-ideal start, as wickets started to tumble early on, resembling a house of cards falling down. Amidst this scenario, Varma’s exceptional performance stood out, keeping India’s hopes alive.

Varma’s innings gave India a glimmer of hope as he battled on and kept the team in contention. However, after his dismissal, the team faced another setback and the game once again teetered on the edge. Despite a valiant effort, the Hardik Pandya-led side fell short by a mere four runs in their chase.
