The stage is set for one of the most highly anticipated games of Asia Cup 2023, where India will clash against Pakistan in third match of the Super 4 stage on Sunday (September 10). This will be the second time when the two teams will meet each other in the ongoing tournament.

The first clash between the bitter rivals in the group stage was washed out due to rain.

Pakistan bowlers out shined the star-studded Indian batting order in their previous encounter, as India lost their top four batters in less than 15 overs. Still, thanks to Ishan Kishan (82) and Hardik Pandya (87), who stabilized India’s innings and helped them to reach a respectable total of 266. As the rain came in full force, the match was abandoned without a single ball being bowled in the second innings.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan are coming into the contest after a win against Bangladesh in their first Super 4 match, while India will be playing their first game in the round.

Pakistan will now look to carry forward the momentum when they meet India. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma & Co. will focus on starting their Super 4 campaign on a winning note.

R Premadasa Stadium Pitch Report

The pitch of R. Premadasa Stadium has historically helped spinners but also offers some help to batters because of its swift outfield and relatively less expansive boundaries. Chasing on this pitch is relatively hard, but considering the weather, there are chances that the toss winner is likely to choose bowling first, as the DLS factor will play a big role if rain affects the match.
