In a high-scoring encounter between Namibia and Zimbabwe at the Wanderers Cricket Ground, Zimbabwe emerged victorious by five wickets in the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series.

Namibia innings:

After put in to bat first, Namibia posted a competitive 198/3 in their allotted 20 overs. Michael van Lingen led the charge with a blazing 67 off 37 balls, featuring 10 fours and 3 towering sixes. Niko Davin provided solid support, contributing 60 runs off 44 deliveries, which included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Gerhard Erasmus chipped in with a quick 38 off 28 balls, and Jonathan Smit provided fireworks at the end, smashing 25 runs off just 11 balls.

Zimbabwe’s bowling attack had a challenging time, with Tendai Chatara being the most successful, taking one wicket for 31 runs.

In response, Zimbabwe demonstrated resilience and determination, reaching the target of 199 with 5 wickets in hand, ultimately winning the match. Sikandar Raza was the hero for Zimbabwe, delivering a sensational performance with the bat. Raza scored an explosive 82 not out off just 35 balls, striking 3 fours and a remarkable 9 sixes.

Other key contributions came from Innocent Kaia (37 runs off 30 balls) and Wesley Madhevere (23 runs off 12 balls), ensuring that Zimbabwe stayed in the hunt. Although the wickets fell at times, Zimbabwe managed to cross the finish line, thanks to Raza’s masterclass. Namibia’s bowlers tried their best, with Erasmus and Jan Frylinck picking up crucial wickets.
