Team India had a memorable outing when they stepped on the field to face Pakistan in the most-awaited clash of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

The Men in Blue performed outstandingly well and completely dominated the match. Be it in batting, bowling or fielding, India produced a top-notch show and bulldozed Pakistan to secure a memorable triumph.

Bowlers shine as Pakistan falters

Choosing to field first, the Indian bowlers unleashed a breathtaking performance, restricting Pakistan to a mere 191 runs in 42.5 overs. With the exception of Shardul Thakur, who bowled just a couple of overs, the rest of the bowlers claimed two wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah stood out, grabbing two wickets while conceding a mere 19 runs in his 7 overs, including a maiden.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam (50 off 58) and Mohammad Rizwan (49 off 69) were the top scorers for their side, but they couldn’t prevent their team from collapsing.

India’s commanding chase

In response, India efficiently chased down the target in just 31 overs, with captain Rohit Sharma leading the charge. Rohit was relentless, smashing an impressive 86 runs from 63 deliveries, which included 6 boundaries and as many sixes. Shreyas Iyer also contributed significantly, remaining unbeaten on 53 and helping India secure a resounding victory.
