The ODI World Cup 2023 has already proven to be an exhilarating tournament, filled with intense clashes, remarkable performances, and unforgettable moments. One more such clash went underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where Pakistan took on Afghanistan in a promising encounter.

The battle between Pakistan and Afghanistan began with high expectations as both teams vied for a crucial victory. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan put up a decent performance with the bat. However, the Afghan bowlers kept striking at regular intervals and didn’t let the opposition batters settle.

Apart from batting and bowling prowess, the clash even witnessed an eye-catching incident with Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi stopping mid-action to warn Pakistan skipper Babar Azam about a potential non-striker’s end run-out that left the cricketing world in splits and gave rise to many discussions.

The incident that grabbed headlines occurred in the 15th over of the match when Nabi was in the middle of his run-up, ready to deliver the ball to Abdullah Shafique, but stopped midway when he noticed that Babar was leaving his crease. He then alerted the Pakistan skipper of a potential run-out by issuing a warning and also drew the attention of the umpire to the batter venturing out of the crease before the delivery of the ball.

This unexpected pause in the game also saw a few animated exchanges between Nabi and Babar. However, the exact content of their conversation remains unknown.

Later in the game, spectators also witnessed another moment involving Nabi and Babar where the former tried to help the 29-year-old cricketer tie his laces, but the Pakistan skipper refused the assistance and turned his back. Despite this, Nabi responded with a friendly pat on Babar’s back. Nevertheless, many are claiming that Babar resisted because he didn’t want a senior player of Nabi’s stature to touch his feet.
