The cricketing world is abuzz with anticipation as the IPL 2024 player auction draws near, and the teams have carefully preserved their essential players in the lead-up to the bidding extravaganza through a meticulous strategy during retentions. But what adds more drama and excitement to the thrill of fans is the chance for their favourite teams to still acquire the services of a particular player through trade ahead of the auction.
Amidst the frenzy of player transfers and speculations, a particular rumour involving the dynamic skipper of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sanju Samson, and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise took centre stage. However, the truth behind these claims has now been revealed.
The Sanju Samson-CSK rumor
As the trading window remains open until December 12, cricket enthusiasts have been immersed in a sea of rumours and speculations regarding potential player swaps and acquisitions. One rumour that gained significant attention was CSK allegedly approaching Samson, fueling the already heated pre-auction discussions.
Hardik Pandya’s trade adds fuel to rumours
The rumours gained more traction after Gujarat Titans’ (GT) skipper Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians (MI). Although many still seemed unconvinced and discarded the reports as baseless, the twist in the tale came when the news was attributed to none other than Ravichandran Ashwin, a crucial member of the Rajasthan Royals’ spin attack. Notably, the Tamil Nadu-born cricketer has previously also represented CSK in the cash-rich league.
